Electrical safety (EICR) for landlords
The electrical inspection your rental needs at least every 5 years.
In short
- A qualified person inspects and tests the electrics at least every 5 years.
- Give tenants a copy of the report within 28 days.
- Fix any problems found, usually within 28 days or sooner if the report says so.
- Give a copy to your council if they ask.
